Forced Closure due to Coronavirus Crisis

March 19, 2020

To our lovely customers and friends of House Twenty8:

We regret to inform you that we have no choice but to close the Cafe and Post Office until further notice.

Due to a number of staff illnesses and the resulting self-isolation of several members of the team, we cannot physically continue running the business or continue to put our staff and customers’ health at risk. This decision comes with great sadness, for us as a business, but also the wider community. We will do what we can to try and open the doors of House Twenty8 again once the crisis is over, but inevitably the future is uncertain.

We thoroughly appreciate the kindness and support we have experienced over the last few days from our customers and members of the community. We wish all of you good health and urge you to support the vulnerable aspects of our local area as best as you can. If there is a gift to be gleaned from this sorrowful situation, we hope it will be a resurgence in community spirit and an appreciation of the values of mutual aid and co-dependency in a fragile society.

With great sadness, and a glimmer of hope, the Family Owners of House Twenty8.
